The Nagoya TV Tower (名古屋テレビ塔, Nagoya Terebi-tō?) is an electric wave tower in Nagoya. It is the oldest TV tower in Japan, and was completed in 1954. The tower is 180 metres high, and has two observation decks at the heights of 30 metres and 100 metres. In the 1992 movie of Godzilla vs Mothra, the character Battra attacks Nagoya and destroys the tower after being hit by one of the tanks' missiles. This TV tower closely resembles the Eiffel Tower.
Sho-to-an (a cottage with the sound of the breeze of the pine woods and ocean waves)
The tea room, Sho-to-an, was originally built in the 19th century as a living room of the house called Fuyu-en in Tokyo by Maeda Nariyasu, the 13th lord of Kanazawa in the feudal times. Prior to being renamed Sho-to-an, it was known as Akai-ma (red room) due to the red color of the ceiling and pillars.
Transferred to Kamakura, Kanagawa pref. it was renovated as an independent tea room and named Sho-to-an in 1936 by Maeda Toshinari, the 16th head of the Maeda family.
Sho-to-an was moved to Kanazawa in 1979 and the city of Kanazawa acquired it in 2001. Sho-to-an is a irreplaceable building, preserved int the architectural style of the 19th century within which it was built. It was renovated with extreme care in order to preserve the classical atmosphere and newly laid tiled-floor with tables and chairs for tea ceremory as well as preparation room in 2005
