The approach was from logging and utility service roads on the SE side of Ripple. This was a few years ago, so I'm not sure if the access is still open to vehicles. Good luck.
Bald Mountain lies on the extreme eastern edge of Glacier, across the Duncan/Beaver valley. Leave HWY 95 at Parson, onto the Spillimacheen Forest Service Road. Travel NW for roughly 75km, beyond the McMurdo access road to the ill defined trail head at a clearcut. The Purcell Lodge helicopters tourists into their lodge on Bald Mountain. Google their website for general info. The hike is described in "Hikes Around Invermere" published by Rocky Mountain Books. Cheers....

This is not the Grande Ronde at this location. I have fished the entire Grande Ronde for years. It is likely the Snake but not at this location.
