The River Hull.

Boats on the River Hull.

Hello Medlam ;>) I don't wish to appear pedantic but this sun-dial is not on the Abbey..It is in-fact on the south west wall of Saint Mary's parish church as your place marker correctly shows!

What a lovely image! You must be really proud of this one!

Excellent shot medlam..these are the finest rock pools on the Yorkshire coast..loved by children of all ages ;>) me included ;>)

Cheers

Jim

Thanks much appreciated, ian.

The Next shop is now a Barclays bank.

Wow - never seen a white one before!

This monument commemorates the 1849 cholera outbreak in Hull. The outbreak killed over 1500 citizens of Hull in a few weeks in the fall of 1849. Most deaths occurring in the poorer districts of the city. The city's cemetery could not cope with the deaths and massive pit was dug to bury the bodies. The cholera mound is a short distance away from this plinth.
