The red color is natural tannin from the highland spruce and peat bogs upstream - not coal mine acid pollution. It is superb drinking water. The Dolly Sods are forever protected from coal mining, thank goodness.
A beautiful log structure with a large overshot waterwheel. Was once a grist mill, but now used for Inn purposes. There is a "honeymoon/anniversary" cottage on the property. This could be it.
This photo was taken on January 22, 2009 in Weehawken, New Jersey on a tripod with a panoramic head. It was stitched by PTgui using about 93 separate photos. I used the programs HDR function to merge 3 photos taken at each location (+1,0,-1 EV).
The haze in the middle of the photo is not pollution. It seems to be the result of the sun being relatively low in the sky off the right side of the picture. I think it is essentially a shadow. It was "adjusted" in Photoshop, but not eliminated.
If you have any tips or tricks to eliminate the haze, please let me know.

Excellent shot. You got the balance of color and composition plus a sense of depth.
