™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™ I've always loved nature and the outdoors, there is something magical about it. Why is it that scenes of nature are used to evoke the calm serenity of spiritual materials while also to inspire and motivate it's viewers? The way it calms yet invigorates the spirit can only be described as harmony. ™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™ Is it possible to capture the Zen of the forest? I have seen many come very close and often wonder if I will ever be able to truly capture the feeling I get while I'm there. In the end I am happy to have any excuse to venture into God's country regardless of the outcome. ™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™ What I like most about photography is the way it changes the way I look at the world, I notice the flowers, the way the light reflects off a persons eye and the ever changing colors and shapes. ™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™

The statue is by the British artist, Antony Gormley. Gormley often uses casts of his own body in his work. Here's some more of his stuff:

The huge 'Angel Of The North' is just fantastic 'in the flesh' - I've never seen a picture of it that comes close to capturing its power. You can't help but be moved when you're in its presence.

Thank you so much Herb! I worked pretty hard on this one.

I believe you have seen those signs the F1 guys use to wave.

You'll just have to wait for the text Heathrow–Paddington 6.10 PM.

Thank you Carlee*. The other title is "Tree Cannibal", which fits with the location on Donner Pass, named for the infamous group that was stranded over a long winter not far from here in the mid 19th century.

These are siblings of my Great Grandfather, They contracted diptheria as a result of trading with travellers who had the illness befall them and the clothing they traded for passage on the ferry. Very sad to bury four children within two months.
