I think it has to be. We came in to work from Princes Risborough on the fast train and went back from Marylebone. This certainly is not Marylebone.

Now Rhea was married to Kronos. They had had 5 children already but Kronos had developed a bad habit and ate them all. So Rhea hid in a cave and bore Zeus here and thereby hangs a tale.

Imaginatively reconstructed in places with wood replaced by concrete. It at least looks spectacular and gives an impression of what an amazing civilisation it must have been.

The departure lounge is a dull depressing place. Some more lights and a coat of paint would help.

Visible is the second palace, the first being destroyed by an earthquake. The second palace dates from c.1650BC and the picture shows the grand staircase and the entrance to the temple. Compared to Knossos it has not been fancifully restored with chunks of concrete and is less popular as a result.

Looking back as we were leaving the Lassithi Plateau the clouds were building up. Quite a sight.
