Panoramio suggest that the pointer is from where the photo was taken, not of the subject. I can't pin point this but assume it was on a boat, possibly the Osprey.
There are far worse pointers in Google Earth, but I aggree with Panoramio that it is better to show where it is from, so Others can duplicate the picture.

Sorry to be picky, but I think it is spelt yacht.
If you look in G. Earth at Ely, Cambridgeshire you will see I spelt cathedral wrong, and I don't know how to change that!
