Hi Chris, wonderful photo, unique place. You call it"Babylon Island". Is that name official? I guess no. YOU call it like that because this island evokes a lot of wonderful memories. I also climed the cliffs where you took the photo from. Yes, the view is breathtaking from up there ... just like overlooking a piece of paradise. Hopefully we come together there this season. Best wishes from yours German friend Claus
Early morning in July 2007. An unusual, almost threatening cloud formation approached rapidly. The lake remained calm, and without a whisper of warning deafening thunder announced the arrival of a violent storm. A moment later severe winds destroyed this peaceful scenery, that I captured in a photo just in time.

didn't Goethe also say: "life is too short to drink bad wine!"? One might say that the wild lands are a "good wine", and if life be short, it is good to drink in their beauty.

Hi Claus,
It's Rob Bennett commenting. (Your Minaki neighbour)
I absolutely love your photographs and comments. I respect and appreciate your love for the area. It truly is a great natural medicine.
Sometime we will have to get together for a tea.
Have a great fall/winter and I'll see you in the spring.
Rob
