hello crachinol.. Sorry, there was indeed a mix up!! I have taken the opportunity of looking at all your entries and realise that the comments made were mostappropriate after all!! You really have a nose for pigeonniers!! We have very few of them in the UK and none that I know of in Sussex.. which is one reason (wine/food and the French) being amongst others!!that I spend my time in France tracking them down.. Je suis vraiment désolé de répondre si tard, mais ce commentaire en réponse au mien m'avait complètement échappé et je le trouve aujourd'hui par le plus grand des hasards...

Mon intervention concernait en fait une petite faute de frappe ayant provoqué une intervertion sur le nom de l'étiquette : il faut écrire "Pigeonnier" et non "Pigeonneir".

Sinon, la différence communément admise entre "pigeonnier" et "colombier" est que le colombier est un bâtiment destiné à l'usage exclusif des pigeons alors que dans un pigeonnier, la partie basse peut avoir une autre usage .

Ma connaissance en anglais est insuffisante pour dire si cette nuance existe dans votre langue.

Encore une fois, désolé pour ce retard et toutes mes amitiés à un semi-Périgourdin.
