Looking at the heart of Hartford, Connecticut from the Connecticut Science Center. The boat-shaped building is the Phoenix Mutual Insurance building and the tall tower building is the Traveler's Insurance Company.

The original Ocean House once stood on this very spot, however 136 years had passed, and time had taken its toll on this grand structure. It was razed and rebuilt, reopening in 2010 bearing a strong resemblance to the original hotel. I remember it well as a child spending his summers on Watch Hill.

As you travel through south central Alabama and happen upon the joining of Routes 189 and 134 in Coffee County you will find the Perry Store on the southeast corner. Here are a few comments from a friend about the store that once served the community of Perry Store.

That store has been closed for a number of years. We would always stop there to get a cold drink and cane juice, they ground the cane right there in front of the store. My mouth is watering just to think about it. You could stroll around inside for hours and not see all the unusual and old items on display. The old man who owned the Perry Store died several years ago and the son took it over for a short time. Wish it were still open so I could show the grandkids how it once was.
