Great capture of one of the world's most remote places! Truly a miracle that Shackleton and his crew survived. YSL, Neil

Great photo. From the descriptions of the voyage in Wikipedia, I am surprised it looks this friendly. Not much beach! The island is most famous as the desolate refuge of Ernest Shackleton and his crew in 1916. Following the loss of their ship Endurance in Weddell Sea ice, the 28 exhausted men reached Elephant Island after a harrowing ordeal on drifting ice floes. They established a camp at a place they called Point Wild where they were able to regain some strength.

Great pic, from an awesome historical site!

Shackleton 1 Shackleton's departure point & departure point for "Chasing Shackleton", attempt, using same type boat, clothing, food & navigation equipment used by Shackleton 100 years earlier. The photographer who had documented the Shackleton party up to this point, was left behind when the six men set out on the journey. This was the reason for the recreation - this time WITH a photographer on board.

Wonderful panorama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIKE! Kind regards. Nadia.
