Thanks for your interest in my shots of the scene of The Battle Of Hastings. It is quiet surprising that you are able to trace your lineage back that far. Knowing about the Quaife Coat Of Arms would probably help a great deal in that respect I would guess. You could well be right in speculating that the Quaife Coat Of Arms is on display within the Abbey. From memory there is much historic paraphernalia on display within its precincts.

I did once go back to have a look at one of my other shots I took at Myall Lakes about 20 years after I took it in 1976. The scene as it presented itself on that first occasion was definitely my preferred choice.
Nice shot. Very "vernacular".
In deed they do, I also have memories of many a good night spent at this place.
