This happened quite a few years ago shortly after the old Pierhead landing stage( which used to ripple with the waves, and survived all that nature threw at it) had been replaced by a new "modern" structure. Someone forgot to close the covers over the floating chambers and down it all went in a storm. Needless to say, some Scouse wag did comment "How do you expect Irish cement to float"

This looks like the Kindasah statue, one of Jeddah Corniche's first statues, and was made from some of the boilers from the old desalinisation plant.
