The correct designation of this fountain is "Jonah and the Whale' by Carl Millis. I confirm this as a Cranbrook graduate in 1941

This is one of Detroit's greatest houses. Built by Fred Fisher, the founder of Fisher Body. I've heard that the interior is amazing--loaded with marble, panellings, woodwork, tilework. Designed by Mason & Rice; built in 1918. Solid limestone, front and back, by the Indiana Limestone Company.

I grew up in this neighborhood when I was a kid, my parents sold our house and we moved away in 1968. These photos are beautiful and they really take me back to when I was a young kid playing in the streets...

I used to cruise around these streets in the evenings to see the mansions with their lights on. After awhile, you get "mansion fatigue" :-)
