This shows where three of the five tall skyline landmark brickyard chimneys rise from, these being Kings Dyke while the other two not seen in this picture are from the Saxon works. The long grey structure in the centre is one of the end points of the clay conveyor system, climbing to the top of the refinement shed.

Not open to the public, occasionally the area around the dissused pits is used for off-road competition and event stages. Other recreational clubs that use the area are jet-ski enthusiasts, and private power-boat owners.

One of the original London Brickworks Shaylers, still in use at the time this picture was taken. This machine is now replaced by two huge bucket-loader jibs, but when taken out of service this Shayler was thought to be over 80 years old.
