Honestly, one of the worst holliday experiences ever... Tropic Park, Malgrat de Mar, july 2007.
Untidy rooms, weird shower, bad food (we were second turn and always got remains from the first turn), the only plus was very friendly and helpful staff. In my opinion the hotel should have been thoroughly renovated 10 years ago. Now it's a wreck. The swimming pool in the yard was a weird greenish brown, reeking with kitchen exhaust. Furthermore, "the golden sands" of the Mediteranean seashore prooved to be only crushed rock that really hurt your feet. You had to wear solid shoes to walk on the beach. The sea bottom is about 10-15 feet deep less than 5 feet off the shore. One had to be an absolutely accomplished swimmer or have a really good pneumatic mattress to be able to enter the water. Add to this the suburban train speeding up and down each quarter of an hour less than 50 feet away from your window and the Passeig Maritim connecting Costa del Maresme to Barcelona, teaming with traffic and at 15 feet off your window... It was like a holliday in Bronx... All that for 1500 Euros for 5 days.
