hi i am sorry weston has gone to the dogs i left in 1970 to go to the usa i have great memories of weston i grew up in south walliscote rd played in clarence park sneaked under the beer tent when they had the cricket tornementsgot chased by the park rangers what a great time the new prir and the old peir used to swim in the pool and jump of the top board to afraid to dive seen your pic davy what a shame it makes me sad sorry for the kids that never had the chance to do it

This is a great trip. Get the Sea Tractor across to the Island for a pint at the Pilchard even when the tide's in.

Clevedon pier is a beautiful Victorian pier and was restored with donations from businesses and the public. It is open most days and during the summer has Jazz cruises on the Severn estuary amongst other events. http://www.clevedonpier.com/

The Minack theatre is an absolute must for anyone visiting Cornwall. It is a beautiful amphitheatre cut into the rocks and overlooking the sea. There are shows all through the summer and they go on in pretty much all weather so if you do go then go prepared! http://www.minack.com/ Oh and book really early as everything sells out.

This has now been totally redeveloped into housing. I work on some of the properties there and the standard of building was pretty poor. Dry lining that should have been 2 x 15mm was in fact 1 x 12, meaning that fixing anything to the walls had to be done right through into the concrete behind.

Thanks Stargazerherman. It was taken from my glider with a decent lens and a few circuits to get the best shot. I used to work not far from here so took a "flying" trip down memory lane.

i remember fishing with my brother on birnbeck when i was a nipper in the early eighties,good times.they should spend a bit of money on doing it up,bring in more tourists.
