Hello friend Roger, Amazing location and scene well taken. >>> I'm glad our Devils Tower is protected from development or some one would put up a McDonald's with a heliport on it. >>> In the SF Bay Area we have a double pyramid isolated mountain called "Mount Diablo". >>> I live about 1 hour away. >>> Like you I enjoy researching the history of places I photograph >>> The origins of the name can be found in Wikipedia or somewhere in my collection. >>> This area is also protected and called Mount Diablo State Park. >>> Because I live here I get the opportunity to shoot it many different ways. >>> If you choose you can start here or use my tag of the same name. >>>http://www.panoramio.com/photo/108607093>>> Cheers and warmest regards from California, Richard. Hello, Diane. Thank you for this visit and love this jack for sharing this photo. In Switzerland in the Valais, Monkey Bridge Bisse de Savièse 2009. This dizzying ride on the mountainside along the route of the old Bisse du Torrent-Neuf. The trail follows three suspension bridges, offering magnificent views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Along the way, several panels show old pictures of people working on the Bisse at the beginning of last century.
Best greetings from France, city Narbonne,
Thank you for sharing this photograph. I have used it in my blog Travelogue of an Armchair Traveller.
I will also shortly make a post about "Giant Hands Around The World" in Google Earth Community Forums and will also include this picture in that collection.
Needless to say I have given due credit to you.
The hand has now been shifted from the location shown in the photograph. Its current location can be seen in my blog. It is in bad shape now.
The Travelogue is a non-profit ads free blog which I have created as a pastime and I do not derive any monetary benefit from it or from my posts in Google Earth Community Forums.
