Hi - great photo, we will be in Munich again in May 2009 and visiting Aying - it is one of our favourite beers too! (and going to Andechs again, and Freising for Weihenstephener!) All the best, John

Hi Dan! Thanks for the comment, I have changed to title of this photo (and a second one) I was not 100% sure of the correct spelling when I uploaded them. However, changing the file name unfortunately does not also change the file name in the link on Google Earth! All the best, John

Hi Albert ! Yes, Sutton Park is still the beautiful unspoil natural area it was in the 1950s, though the Town Gate area Fairground is gone, and that area now has a sports ground and indoor swimming pool. Regret that the Wooden thatched roof shelters that were in many places and by Blackroot lake have all be burnt down by mindless vandals. Keepers Pool is no longer an official swimming pool, all the changing rooms etc have gone, but apart from that, you would not see many changes!

The two buildings left and right in forground are Sutton Baptist Church. They were originally the 'Town County Junior School' buildings, but closed in the 1970s and left empty for many years. The Baptist church was originally where MacDonalds is now, but they purchased the old School Buildings and converted them into a church, social and meeting rooms in the 1990s.

Sutton Coldfield Station looking northwards, on the Birmingham - Lichfield line. The building on top left is Sutton Town Hall Council House, but was originally the Sutton Rail Terminal Hotel in 1865. The line was extended to Lichfield in 1884. In 1955 a serious accident when a Bristol-York train left the rails at Sutton Station with tragic consequences, leaving the northbound platform canopy and buildings destroyed, which were never replaced, hence the present appearance of the north bound platform.
