I catalog historical photos for a living, and love pictures of architecture and scenery, so google earth is a perfect place for me to have fun! I like to run out and fill my memory card with shots of an area and post them. I like showing contrasts between what was and what is current in an ephemeral urban landscape. The latest find was Krisana Park - I caught it just as the colors were changing. Beautiful area. They're on the net: http://krisanapark.org/

Rafi Metz's conversations

Rafi, I just found my way back to this... a year and a half later LOL. I have a bunch of photos of the inside that I took before the building was sold. If you would like to see them, please let me know! Allen is my Mom's cousin... so definitely related. My email address is leahryan30@gmail.com - Thanks!

I lived in this house until 1949, when my younger brother came along and we had to get a house with an additional bedroom - I was 5 when we moved. My father bought the house in 1939, so he and his mother could live there after his father died. Interestingly, the only thing that appears to have changed is the fence around the front yard is gone. My grandmother planted the crabapple tree when she moved there in 1939. I remember when I lived there, just about every house on the street in that block had kids, and it was a great playground, especially to be able to go up to Observatory Park and play there.

Here's a short video of this fountain: http://youtu.be/Yg9c7rEsv1M

Thanks, Kevin, it's nice to get more information.

Apparently this was Bonnie Brae Drug in the 50s & 60s, I remember it as the new home of DU drug in the early 70s. $0.35 malts, oh yeah.

Thanks, I fixed it.
