This Coptic monastery is the site of a visit by the holy family during their flight into Egypt. in the 1980's - 1990's it was renovated and upgraded and now includes a very nice conference centre. The upgrade was an initiative of Bishop Athanasious, the Coptic bishop of Beni Suef at the time.
