October, beach, families, fishing, sunset...life is good.
Morning mists slowly clear away to a new day in the Bluegrass...south of Bardstown, KY
From Hemlock Lodge at Natural Bridge State Resort Park in Slade, KY. The morning fog frozen in momentary beauty. Five minutes later this scene was gone.
When traveling, I like to watch for compostions that I feel would make a good jigsaw puzzle. This view of the Chicago skyline taken from the Navy Pier in Februray fills the bill.
Ordinary beach, ordinary sunrise, on an ordinary day in an ordinary life. Ain't it grand?
The Kalalau Trail on Kaua'i has to be the most amazing and most scenic 11.5 miles to be found. Heed the warning about the ocean at Hanakapiai Beach. If visiting Hawaii and going to beaches without a protective reef, never turn your back on the sea. My friend, Bob, lost his camera, his cell phone, and deprogrammed the keys to his rental car when he got lax at Poipu. My wife nearly lost her life near Queen's Bath. When enjoying the wilds of Hawaii, please use caution.
I spent three months on Kaua'i in '05, working, playing, pastoring, and doing research on a book. This three photo composite shows what greets folks who travel Kuamoo Road in the early morning. www.mikebradfordonline.com
The trek is about five miles from trailhead to this bridge and back on the Moalepe Trail on Kaua'i. Easy walk, many nice views. Take a small picnic with you and enjoy a rest on this bridge. Please carry out all that you carry in. Keep our planet clean.
Southwest Harbor, Maine is always attractive and always changing. I have to wonder about the life and times of one who names a boat "Under Pressure."
Viewing sunsets on Kaua'i is a tricky thing. I waited on the Waimea Pier, hoping for a great show at sunset. I took some great photos, and thought the show was over. I actually left the pier, got in my car and headed back to where I was staying. In the rearview mirror I began to see streaks of red. I drove back, ran out onto the pier, and captured a series of wonderful sunset photos. A local standing near me told me that tourists come and leave too early every night. What a difference five more minutes made!
