I agree with you Andrey as another who is not a particularly religious person. I am struck, however, by the similarities between the practices of different peoples all over the world. In this case, I find the prayer offerings the Native American tribes make at the Bear's Lodge to be remarkably like the prayer flags the Sherpas in Nepal offer to the deity of Mt. Everest.

mg1744 My name is Mark and I'm currently living in Virginia Beach, Virginia, although I am originally from Northern Virginia and also lived for many years in Colorado. I have now completed my first gallery (see below). Now I'm going to post some more or less current shots of my surroundings here, but I expect that I will go back and post up some shots of other places I have been or simply scenes that I found worthwhile. I am a sucker for the beach, ships and boats and . . . ; well that list could go on for some time. I always try to includes at least a few words of description about each photo, about why it was interesting to me and to inform anyone who might take a look about what is shown. In addition, there are many places where more than one photo goes together; either as before and after shots or as a sequence describing an event, journey or particular place. In these situations the titles and especially the descriptions are also sequential, so it may be worthwhile for the viewer to to also look at the photos surrounding any particular shot to get the whole picture, so to speak. Just started a series taken last month for OpSail 2012. As I said above, I am a sucker for ships. _________________________________________________________________ I originally started here as a place to record my trip in August of 2010 to Ukraine, where I spent most of my time in Zaporozhye, although I did manage a short side trip to the beach on the Sea of Azov. The first 90 photos constitute the gallery for the trip. I have tried to include in my titles and descriptions the correct Russian, particularly for place names. Also, even though it was over a year after the trip before I started posting the photos and it took me several more months to get them all uploaded, I think in most cases my locations are accurate. However, I welcome comments, suggestions or corrections.
