Hello, I am Margrit, (username May). Origin/Swiss Profession/Architect In Pano since 5.Jul 2007 A warm welcome to you all! ************************************* Welcome in my galleries! Thanks to all, who find it worthwile to visit my gallery and to comment photos. If ever my time allows, I'll get on Panoramio more often, discovering the beauty of our world through your wonderful photos. Thank you all so much! ************************************* Thank you all for the innumerable group invitations, but sorry, my schedule just doesn't allow to spend more time! ************************************* Du oder du, ich bin hin- und hergerissen. Gelernt haben wir 'Du', der neuere Duden sagt du oder auch richtig Du. So schreibe ich manchmal klein und manchmal gross, aber immer freundlich gemeint. :) Taking photos is one of my passions beside many other interests! Before digital photography I developed and copied my b/w photos in my darkroom. In and outside of my profession I studied art and did some painting (watercolors), as far as time allowed. Fortunately there is never an end in learning and I take every opportunity to learn and am grateful to all those contributing to it. ************************************* My second album is an addition to this gallery, often older photos or of my journeys. / In der folgenden Galerie sind hauptsächlich Fotos von meinen Reisen in der Schweiz, Spanien, England, Schottland, Wales und Irland. http://www.panoramio.com/user/swissmay2 ************************************* In the following gallery is a collection of the open air museum of mostly traditional farm houses in different regions of Switzerland and of interiors of past centuries and of markets - In dieser Galerie finden sich zur Hauptsache Fotos vom Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg, ein Überblick mit traditionellen Bauernhäusern aus verschiedenen Regionen der Schweiz mit Original-Einrichtungen und -Werkzeugen, Gotthelfmarkt, etc. http://www.panoramio.com/user/swissmay3 ************************************* and the last gallery in Panoramio is dedicated to black/white photos, an old passion of mine: http://www.panoramio.com/user/swissmay4 ************************************* Panoramio Member since 05.07.07

♫ Swissmay's conversations

Hi Mick, sorry I didn't even mention the bridge, I just fell back to history to the 16th century.

The sad event of the famine in the 19th century in Ireland has certainly been very drastic and maybe influencing life and history of Ireland up to the present days.

So I can imagine that this bridge has had and still has a very important role as a token of that time. And the more I look at your photo of the beautiful bridge, the more it seems to be telling me.

It has adapted itself to the green shades of Ireland in its natural surrounding in perfect harmony, letting us have a look to the distant scenery and thus connecting the past to today up to the Irish girl viewing for us through the span of the bridge back in the span of time.

It's a marvellous composition - I love Ireland!

Dear May, thank you so much! Yes, I have tried to capture as much of the spirit of the place as I could with my camera, but really I wish I could take everyone there, as it really is one of the most beautiful places in the region; and the restoration indoors and out is just astonishing. The present owner, Mr. David Peebles, has really accomplished something to take your breath away. There have been many magazine articles in recent years about Lisburne, so there is quite a bit about it online now--including photographs by others of the beautiful antique furnishings. It was a happy accident for me that I nerved myself into turning into the drive, because you certainly can see nothing of the house from the road!

Best wishes, and thank you for visiting, and of course for the FL!

Merci Fernand!
