Cool picture. I drive past those trees almost every day, in fact I was there ten minutes ago. But I'm confused by your title. There are five Ponderosa variants: critchfieldiana, scopulorum, ponderosa, brachyptera and readiana. Benthiamiana is a type of tobacco found in Australia. Critchfieldiana, Pacific Ponderosa is the variant found in the San Bernardino mountains.
Most people didn't know this place existed but now they do.
I've seen mountain lions across from Lost Creek Canyon at Bridal Veil Falls. My guess is that they can also be found on Mt. Timpanogos, where Lost Creek Canyon is located.
Wow, these are some high quality photos, did you use your phone or something? I'm surprised Google actually approved these. Guess the standard has been WAY lowered. But thanks for posting. First time to the mountains??

What on earth is hanging in the tree?

Nice shot of Heart Rock! I just put a photo of the seely creek in autumn on my site. Your picture looks very clear!
This is a nice shot. I especially like the lighting.
These aren't smelters, though. They were ovens used to make charcoal, which was in turn used in the smelting process in Utah.
