Thanks Ralph. We were visiting the area last year and travelling from Idaho to Logan on Interstate 84. I believe UT Rt. 89 was closed for repairs, so the GPS said we could take this county road (Short Divide Road) over the Clarkston Mountain Range into Cache Valley. As in most of our travels, back roads seldom disappoint.

A road located through the deep cut in the Waianae Mountains, known as Kolekole Pass, was constructed by the 3rd Engineers in 1937. Contrary to popular belief, Japanese planes did not approach through Kolekole pass, but flew along the inside of the mountain range making it appear as though they came through the pass enroute to Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
