@Mario: ja, das war noch Architektur. Leider betrachtet man diese Art von Kultur heutzutage als "Schandfleck" und "Standortnachteil". Der Abbruch der hier gezeigten Anlage ist bereits in Planung.

Thanks for your comments. I can read your language only a tiny little bit. Just a remark: I don't want to start a political discussion on industry with my photographs. I don't want to point at possible polluters. I intend to preserve what I consider the core of our culture, the industrial history, in my images. Regarding pollution: I think, that everything should be done to keep pollution as low as possible. Unnecessary pollution for the sake of shareholder value is unacceptable. However, we should keep in mind, that everyone of us uses the products of industrial production. Moving production e.g. to China seemingly "solves" the problem of pollution. In reality it just shifts the problem - most probably to countries with lower environmental protection standards and often no social standards. Greetings Harald

De oude mijnen, vergane glorie. Spijtig, want van Charleroi kan je zo'n mooie stad maken, ze is enkel wat verwaarloosd. Naar typische Belgische gewoonte zullen deze fabrieken en groeven er nog staan tot ze uit zichzelf instorten.
