the esplanade, yes i lived there many years ago, we moved away about 1968, my familys name is cowley ,i think we lived at no 10, not sure, we used to always watch the divers planting explosives and setting them off, i believe it was a sunken ship, not too sure, my older brother peter was always getting stuck in the mud,and having to get the neighbours to help him out before the tide came in, i think thats why we moved, he never learnt. we had friends who lived in a big house just past the esplanade, cant remember the name, but we had some great times there, oh well those were the days , thanks for posting the photos
