I was amazed how much snow there was in Bad Grund this year. This German town in the region Harz is beautiful in summer and in winter. I looked at some bargain properties there. Its really a very attractive region.

Balestrino has a very old part which is located around the Castle of the Earls of Carretto. This village part is unhabited and most of the houses are ruins.It has ben film location for the fantasy film "Inkheart" with Brandon Frasor and Helen Mirren, which came into cinema recently.There are plans to restore this village part or do make an open air museum out of it. However, it is an interesting place to visit and explore and ideal for photo shootings. Duplex villa Balestrino

Balestrino is a rather longish village and divided into several fractions , which many years ago used to be all seperate little villages. Nowadays all these little parts belong to Balestrino. While you drive along the via provinciale, you get a good overview of the medieval village. On this picture you can see one of the old parts of Balestrino with rustic houses clinched one on each other, the typical medieval way of building town houses.
