This is the hotel I worked at for the opening of their complete renovation as their first night auditor. The company was run for the No. 10 Sixth St. Bumble Bee office building that has now burned down. The hotel is now under new ownership and management.
This home belongs to the Original/First Columbia Bar Pilot's family, (Captain Flavel) and they still occasionally still occupy it. Very peculiar folk; used to keep wolves for pets and guard dogs inside, and would actually shoot from the windows. There is a bullet hole through the neighboring Rosebriar hotel next door's window in the breakfast room.
Top floor of building was the original CEO of Bumble Bee's Global Cannery operations Penthouse/Home. This tower still stands, but the pier and the Bumble Bee office building is now completely burned to the pilings.
Sadly, This pier at the North end of 6th Street was involved in a huge fire and the Bumble Bee CEO's penthouse and office complex, as well as the Cannery Cafe were a total loss. I worked for the property management company that managed this place. It was a horrible loss.
