I am a polar researcher for an American University, studying how the Earths surface responds to changing ice mass. I have been to Antarctica for a total of about 2 years, since 1997. I have also been to the Arctic a couple of times - its just as beautiful but with many more bugs!!

I went there as part of a science project, but this particular region is also popular with ski-tourers and alpinists. EastGreenland.com has a pretty good run down of tour operators etc. This part of Greenland can be accessed reasonably easily from Iceland. Cheers.
