While I was working in the Cape Breton Highlands one winter, the snowfall was so severe the telephone booth near my home was nearly covered. I took this picture at Broad Cove, Victoria County when the snow levels peaked during the month of March.

Ingonish, Nova Scotia - I took this picture outside the house where I was living in the Cape Breton Highlands. There were many Moose in this area and I would often see them in the woods and on the roads. This one was walking down a newly plowed roadway and, for some reason, decided to stop precisely at the stop sign. I kind of chuckled to myself thinking maybe she could read!

National Park Warden Shoulder Flash - This is a photo of one of the badges worn on my Park Warden (Ranger) uniform. There were issues in a number of colors and iterations over the years as there was some inconsistency in the uniform construction and color which is still being toyed with. In my opinion, this was the most professional looking design, one I fought hard for during my "hay day".

Ingonish Beach - This is a closeup photo I took of a seal wallowing around in the fresh snow on the shore of Ingonish Beach in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. They are cute until you see the razor sharp teeth and receive a gutteral warning to keep away. Thankfully, I used telephoto settings for this view!

Cape North - Beulach Ban falls. This simple waterfall is located in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park near Cape North at Big Intervale, which is at the base of North Mountain, off the Cabot Trail on an access road. It is very much affected by rain, accumulated snow and ground water levels often fluctuating from a torrent to a trickle.
