The New York Shaft's head frame. this headframe is in remarkable shape- it is steel and even has the skip in place still. I liked this picture more than some of my more exposed images because of the nice silhouetting.
This photo was taken with my Sony DSC-P200 with a 30 second shutter open time. It is a picture from American Flat Rd, looking North towards Virginia City (starting at the saddle in the center of the picture). Gold hill is visible from the lower right up to the group of bright lights that is the Gold Hill Hotel.
