Special Effects. No computer graphics in 1968. Adding extra aircraft, falling bombs and fire-glow was hard work. Wally Veevers was a master at it.

I am sorry Rose, but most of my carnival photos were taken in 1956/7, a few in 1958 and none in 1959. None of my photos show a Mickey Mouse float.
best wishes

You can just see my bed through the open door. This building has been demolished. No, this is not the 'NAAFI'; that is under the next arch to the right and is now the only one of these huts left standing. It was never anything but a canteen run by service personnel for their own use. The proper NAAFI was through the tunnel, past the war rooms, and to the left past the steps.

Hi Nicky
Nice photo, but not of Ramla. This is St. Paul's Bay with the roundabout at the top of Xemxija hill in the foreground next to the site of the demolished Mistra Village. Across the bay is Qawra, Bugibba and St.Paul's The New Dolmen and San Antonio hotels stand out well. best wishes, Adrian Allain

Hello Susan
Thank you for your kind comments about my photos. No, I have no objections to you using my photo as the basis for a painting. Thank you for asking. Very few people would have the courtesy to do so.
kind regards
Adrian
