Hello, beautiful capture, YSL. Best wishes dear friend.
Dear friend, today I've read one of the worst news for a photographer (and not only). Panoramio announced that won't be available after November 4, 2016. Then, for 1 year, we can see all the amazing captures of the Panoramio World Map without being able to interact, as if we were behind a bulletproof glass that separates us. I knew Panoramio in 2007, when I was only 15 and I installed Google Earth on my PC. I've always love geography and an interface that shows me places and photos from all the world was really interesting. The "geo-tagging" action caught me immediately.
5 years passed, I was 20 and in the meantime I met people, I saw new places, I fell in love, I travel a little bit, I have collected experiences and I was caught by photography passion. So I decided, in 2012, to enter in Panoramio. It took a little time to understand one thing: it wasn't a simple and technical website about geography and photography. It was the fusion of hearts, emotions, experiences, cultures from people through their eyes, their real eyes, as if they were lens of a camera. I immediately looked for the beaches, the cities, the seas, the roads, the hills and the places of my entire life (even if it wasn't very long). In a bit of time I learned to watch inside the photos, I learned to go looking for something, always, as if photography was a big and romantic adventure. When I saw some places I felt strong emotions, sometimes it happened that a picture has made me shed tears. So after a couple of years I started to collect and save some of my favourites captures, thousands of these (obviously in the respect of the autor, I won't never publish somewhere these photos whitout authorization). I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for having built a masterpiece like this. For all the feelings, the emotions and the beautiful photos that allowed me to leave for an adventure whenever I wanted. Maybe for turning me into a better person. I can not understand how it can be stored a priceless treasure like Panoramio, the element that contains millions of photos, maybe the only complete album of the planet Earth. Someone will try to export pictures on Maps but I wonder what will happen to the photos of those users who have left Panoramio years ago. I'm afraid that those photos will be removed and forgotten. For me, I'll take Panoramio forever in my heart and I will try always, one way or another, to leave for "the adventure". Thank you!
If anyone knows about me, If anyone remember my photos or if anyone wants simply to add me, I'm here, happy to continue sharing this passion with you.
