I was stationed at Thurso when this photo was taken. I if I remember right wasn't there a little heat wave that month? It was an awesome month.

Because it's true. It is known that the story was attached to Beddgelert by a local inn-keeper in a deliberate attempt to attract tourists. The grave is only 200 years old, built 600 years after the myth it claims to honour.

It's not nasty to tell a well-known truth. It is, however, nasty to post abusive messages on someone's photograph simply because you want to believe a lie.

Scary stuff. I'm not good with heights, and had enough trouble getting out on to the walkway around the tower.

Taken a few days before opening through a gap in the wire mesh fence. The phrase "bloody cone" comes to mind.

Thanks. It was only there for a few minutes, after which it yawned a few times and then crept back into the vegetation and out of sight. But for a short time it was completely motionless, soaking up the morning sun.
