If you haven't already figured it out, it is easier to go west to east. When my son rode from Providence RI to Seattle WA with Bike and Build, he said that having 35 mile an hour winds in his face all across northern Nebraska was worse than going up and down the mountain ranges. That was too bad, since I grew up in Crete, Nebraska, and wanted him to like my state!
