It may seem a minor point, but to the locals, it is important that this place be referred to as "Agia Ermioni" and not "Ermioni" as is indicated in the photo. The village is named after the Highly venerated Saint and the chapel, a part of which can be seen in the foreground, was one of the original structures, when this was a virtually uninhabited quiet spot used by an few fisherman. For many years, Agia Ermioni had the distinction of being used as a summer retreat by the residents of the town of "Thimiana" and most of the original homes along it's coast were built by them. Over the years this area has been developed by returning expats, among others, and is now full of homes, hotels, apartments, and tavernas. Soon the entire coast from Karfas to Megas Limionas will be linked as one highly developed touristy entity and the quiet and serene charm of this area will be gone forever.

Just arrived back from Rhodes 15-10-2008! I have to say that we visited a lot of bars but eddy's bar was the most unfriendly bar we visited!! If you have children don't go because the owner makes a point of showing that children are not welcome!! Zero out of 10 for me. If you’re old you might like the obnoxious Dutchman that owns it
