We visited Chios for our honeymoon in 1989. It was lovely to see your photo's as we have been going back ever yearly since 1999. The changes are incredible. We stayed in Karfas at Yamos apartments on the beach. Due to them being abandoned for many years now, we stay at Karatzas, further along the beach. They appear in your photo of Karfas beach.
I have been looking for photo's from that period as the beach is nothing like what it used to be the dunes have gone to be replaced with restaurants and bars!
