Just wanted to get back to you Maureen. My son did enjoy his time in Tarnov. I had sent him a link to your comments and he did in fact get a chance to go on a visit to the salt mines and Auschwitz. Thanks again for your suggestions. And, he actually came back with what he said was a Polish vocabulary of about 200 words. Enough to get around! I just returned from a trip to Las Vegas on business for one day and the plane I was on flew along the Grand Canyon. You can see some of my new photos of both places by going to my gallery: www.panoramio.com/user/191086/ Enjoy! There is a new development called City Center next to the now famous Bellagio, and its fountains! Once again greetings from Denver! (And, back in 2008 we visited Dumfries, Ecclefechen, and the Bonshaw Tower, where my Irving ancestors date back to the middle 1500's. It was great to walk the same area they did. We took our family on a roots tour to Ireland and Scotland, Italy (my wife's roots) and Paris, well just because it is Paris! Had a great time in Ireland and Scotland. You can see some of my photos at www.panoramio.com/user/191086/ You should be able to see some Scottish tags on the right, or just page through my gallery to find them!

Straight ahead, however, is the building of the former mikvah, a Jewish ritual bathhouse which was erected in 1904 in the so-called Moresque style. It was designed by F. Hackbeil and M. Mikoś. The building fulfilled the function of a town bath house for many years even after the war.
