In Panoramio, the goal of my photos is to convey a sense of place. Often, it takes more than one photo to accomplish this. I live in the Santa Clara valley of California, sometimes referred to as "Silicon Valley," and most of my photos are from that area.

I love how this road is shaped like a horseshoe. I ha d the pleasure of riding this road on my scooter 2yrs ago. Someday I'll have to make my way back to the Gorge.

This photo is the best representation of Lehigh Cement & Quarry's excavation for limestone on the internet. It clearly shows the extent of excavation done by the quarry operator in the last 70 years of operation and its extremely close proximity to the communities of Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Altos/Hills. It is the single largest stationary source of toxic and greenhouse pollution in this region yet is only a stones through from expensive residential homes.
