Hate to blow my image as a stellar wildlife photographer, but this was taken from the window of a tour bus in the park. There was about a half dozen of them sitting on an embankment. Sometimes taking a good shot is like shooting fish in a barrel!
Hey, if you find yourself up in that neck of the woods before the snow flies I will be staffing the Waldo Lookout Wed to Sun at least to the end of Sept. I'm planning to hide there for about two to three weeks at some point. Just not come back out like I did in 2001. Visitors are welcome! Bruce
Yes - many a fun night was spent there. I agree one of the best places to hang on campus. Made it there regularly from 1987 to 1994.
I recommend the Raspberry Italian Soda.
Looked in briefly in 2007 and not sure if it has the same vibe now.

I always loved the feel of those small streets in downtown Champaign. This photo really captures the feeling.
