Well maggie I did have the camera on a tripod when I took this picture, there is some movement in the waterflow I could have given it more time such as with some of my traffic pictures which uses the technique you mentioned.

I didn't have my tripod that weekend. Used a seat in the wee shelter hut that is there to steady the camera. Not the best of temporary tripods but it sufficed I suppose.
