Lencomb

Lencomb I live on a small holding in the Kyalami area in Johannesburg. I loved travelling and taking pictures as memories of the places I have seen, mostly South Africa and neighbouring countries. Some of these are colour slides, which I am busy scanning. This is a tedious process and will keep me busy for many months to come because I have more than 4000 slides. The oldest dating back to 1974. I started my career in IT way back in 1974 on mainframe computers. Those days PC did not exist and one can say I evolved with the computer industry to where it is today, 2012. With little knowledge of digital cameras I only got my first one in August 2010. A Fuji HS10 with 24mm-720mm fixed zoom lens. I was totally disappointed with the image quality and only learned recently that the sensor sizes designate the IQ. As digital is totally different to film photography, I started reading many articles on the internet about digital photography. Always tries different techniques and learned different post processing software to enhance my images. For now I am doing the best I can with the equipment I have. Sometimes people say that I am actually stretching my photography beyond the limits of my HS10. At last I have a full frame DSLR. My Nikon D600 arrived on 25th April 2013 after a long wait. My 20+ year old 28-70 and 70-210 must suffice till I can get a wide angle 16-35mm f/4 and a 300mm f/4 telephoto. It will take me some time to get used to all the settings and functions of this awesome camera.
