this is the home church of adam karl schmidt son of johannes and his second wife margaretha kathrinka (eichler) scmidt. He was born 8 October 1880 in wehrda germany and he married ida emma mahlig daughter of christian and ernstine (tschentscher)mahlig from strebitzko, germany (now trzebicko, poland) in 1904 and emigrated to johnstown, pa in 1906 where he joined his half brothers and sisters (katrerine, william, john henry, adam conrad and harry). Johannes first wife was anna mararetha (trapp) who died in 1879. Johannes died in 1880 shortly after adam karl's birth and and his second wife later married a man who last name was konig. to my knowledge none of the konigs emigrated to the united states. most of schmidt's were bricklayers/stonemasons.
