Newlyn harbour - still a viable fishing port a short walk along the coast from Penzance

Another shot of Mousehole harbour only 3 Miles from Newlyn (thus 4 from Penzance) so is cycleable and walkable if not there is a good bus service

The harbour at Mousehole. Mousehole is pretty much unspoiled as it "Died" before the fishing industry found the industrial age (like Newlyn did !)

The old dock at Penzance. The dry dock is off the basin on the left. The mouth of the basin is bridged by the swing bridge. This road and hill appears in many old paintings and pictures and you can drive up it, indeed this is where our sat nav took us but it is better to follow the coast road

Looking east towards Penzance. Great beach with a lovely cafe (Jordan's) in the car park. There is a cycle track on the foreshore that leads directly into Penzance and avoids the busy road

Bridge leading to the Ty Nadan Campsite - the river is great for swimming, paddling and canoeing but pretty dead from the fish point of view

Devils rocks or Roche Diablo worth a visit good for srabbling about on and walking

Great little cove with beautiful glittering sand and fantastic rocks to climb on. Restaurant just behind as well

The rocks in the foreground are plastered with mussells but only those, the ones in front and behind are bare
