These steps where known locally as the Gypsy steps or the 100 steps.Located on Beacon Hill. The steep rise from "The Hen and Chicks' pub up to top of Chatham hill and into Gillingham is a heart racer.

Wow. I've seen this (same day as I took my nearby pic) but i didn't know there was a causeway. Must have been high tide.

I agree. In purely visual terms the view of Kingsnorth Power Station over the river from Gillingham is as indelible and reassuring a part of the local landscape as anything.

Not the best view of Nottingham, but recognisable as Carrington Street, with the Midland Railway Station building to the far right.
