Welcome to my panoramio site. I hope you enjoy viewing my photo selections, taken mostly in the American Rocky Mountains & Great Plains. I have had a camera in my hand continuously since childhood always looking for new photo opportunities and view points. Generally, I photograph in panorama/ landscape camera setting as we saw the American West in the movies. Through the years, I have taken 100's of hikes to discover new locations to photograph. Now, I have returned to photograph with a digital camera, hopefully with improved camera experience. I also have a passion for history photographing anything old-- towns, buildings, trains, planes, old forts & trails, etc. My photo descriptions sometimes contain geologic information, my career background. Recently, I have included photos of the Canadian Rocky Mountains after numerous trips the last several years as I passed & hiked in Glacier National Park in Montana. Again, thanks for visiting my panoramio photo site. Would enjoy hearing from anyone caring to comment from other parts of the world. Never stop exploring our planet and getting to know it better through photographs.

Hi Phil, Just wondering if you don't mind sharing where this "ATV trail" starts? I spent 2 hrs today bushwacking off the Beaverfoot FSR trying to find this location but couldn't..I dropped down directly from the Wapta Falls Rec Site about 100m vertical but couldn't find any trail in there..does the trail start farther along the beaverfoot?? thanks Shawn

Groundwater was the key factor in the past to colorize or bleach the sandstone areas using iron rich minerals like hematite. Note the isolated patches of red.

Fantastic landscapes! Are we really on the Earth???!!!!!!... Best regards. Nouchet

Nouchet, Thanks for your kind comments and viewing my recent photos. This ten mile wilderness hike to the south end of The Dive rises 1000 feet above Buckskin Wash. It offers great views of the surrounding sandstone wilderness in southern Utah. The Pink Cliffs of Bryce National Park are seen at the top of the photo.

Beautiful area and scene, Awesome capture L&F.. Dave and Maggie

Beautiful photo but mislabeled. It is Wakpa Sica Reconciliation Place. It is nothing like a museum. Unfortunately funds ran out before it was finished and right now its future is in doubt.

Ahoj phil h!

Ďakujem za návštevu a hlasovanie.

Greetings Corey,

Thanks for your like and comment. Its hard to believe that its been eight years since I visited South Dakota with my 1st powershot camera. I am now starting to use my 4th Canon Powershot model. All the best.

Hello and thanks for the photos.

The engines were actually created from original photos, as very few drawings existed. Painstakingly creating drawings by scaling photos, O'Connor Engineering Laboratories was commissioned by the National Park Service to re-create both the Jupiter and #119. See a great video of the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM2A2NEaRqg

Take care, Peg

Very impressive and great light!! Like&Fav!

Best regards ,

Gerda.
