Welcome to my panoramio site. I hope you enjoy viewing my photo selections, taken mostly in the American Rocky Mountains & Great Plains. I have had a camera in my hand continuously since childhood always looking for new photo opportunities and view points. Generally, I photograph in panorama/ landscape camera setting as we saw the American West in the movies. Through the years, I have taken 100's of hikes to discover new locations to photograph. Now, I have returned to photograph with a digital camera, hopefully with improved camera experience. I also have a passion for history photographing anything old-- towns, buildings, trains, planes, old forts & trails, etc. My photo descriptions sometimes contain geologic information, my career background. Recently, I have included photos of the Canadian Rocky Mountains after numerous trips the last several years as I passed & hiked in Glacier National Park in Montana. Again, thanks for visiting my panoramio photo site. Would enjoy hearing from anyone caring to comment from other parts of the world. Never stop exploring our planet and getting to know it better through photographs.

Beautiful photo but mislabeled. It is Wakpa Sica Reconciliation Place. It is nothing like a museum. Unfortunately funds ran out before it was finished and right now its future is in doubt.

Ahoj phil h!

Ďakujem za návštevu a hlasovanie.

Greetings Corey,

Thanks for your like and comment. Its hard to believe that its been eight years since I visited South Dakota with my 1st powershot camera. I am now starting to use my 4th Canon Powershot model. All the best.

Hello and thanks for the photos.

The engines were actually created from original photos, as very few drawings existed. Painstakingly creating drawings by scaling photos, O'Connor Engineering Laboratories was commissioned by the National Park Service to re-create both the Jupiter and #119. See a great video of the process here:

Take care, Peg

Very impressive and great light!! Like&Fav!

Best regards ,

Thank you for your comment. These two hikers found this high point along the paved trail south of the Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Sincerely, Phil

Hi Michael,

Thanks again for your comments and visit. For many visitors to the Grand Canyon, they like to stand on the very rim edge for photos. I do not think these visitors jumped up but just stood on the rocks which was a wise move. Phil

Greetings Michael, Thank you for your kind comment on my Mount Reynolds photo. Catching the best photos in the mountains takes just the right weather conditions and lighting, which is many times a rare combination. Phil

That would be OK to use my photo for the Uintah County ad. Just give photo credit to Phil Howland

Grande foto per un'opera grandiosa. Like. Lucia
