Purely a hobbyist snapshot photographer, from the county of ESSEX in the UNITED KINGDOM. ----------------------------------------------------- I know little about photography and just do the best I can with a point and shoot Compact.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think the best browser for viewing this site is GOOGLE CHROME. I have tried using other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox and find that they seem to create a degree of image distortion that doesn't occur on Google Chrome.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since January 2012 the compact I currently use is a Nikon Coolpix P300 12.1 megapixels. All of my photographs before 2012 have been taken with my previous camera a Nikon Coolpix 4600 4.0 megapixels.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the purpose of editing my photographs, I use a couple of different free software applications , namely , FASTSTONE IMAGE VIEWER or CYBERLINK PHOTODIRECTOR 2011.

By the time TFL have finished this will probably be the fate of all our great London Black Taxis reduced to street art whilst TFL roll over and have their tummy tickled by Uber.....................

This is by far my most popular photograph. If you went to and enjoyed this location because you saw my photo here first then my work is done and I would love to hear about it....................

Had a nice Cream Tea from the Riverside Tearooms at the right hand side of the photograph................

Rosalyn Hilborne Hiya Rosa I'm glad it is gone, the pollen doesn't agree with me. Then again I'm sad that it has gone because it certainly does brighten up the Spring. Thanks for your compliment and like ~ all the best ~ nick

Very nice shot, like it. Kind regards, Artem

Hi Andrew

Well Pano maybe up the creek ~ I prefer this tranquil shot of Hove Creek ~ YSL and best wishes ~ nick

(I'm sure it will get reviewed eventually :~)

The dome shaped building is the entrance to the staircase and lift shaft taking you down to the foot tunnel that goes under the River Thames to the isle of dogs on the North side.

During the sixtys as a Marconi apprentice I was deligated to work for a group of engineers in a building close by this tower. This particular building was originally constructed to house a single electronic valve of which the proportions were enormous. Measuring aprox 5 ft in diameter and about 25 ft long it was mounted on railway lines in a concrete pit, The pit was covered in lead slabs 6 to 8 ins thick. Although decomissioned by that time it was said that when it was powered up the lights in houses for miles around would go dim. Thanks for the discription, I didn't know the tower had been moved to this site. Regards snowytr276ge & snowy2012.

Anyone know how tall this is? The houses and trees below look tiny in comparison...............

Terrific photo Pickaxe, L/F. all the best, Bill.
